Because recovered remains can no longer be identified by sight, the authorities are collecting DNA. If your relative is missing, you can give a reference sample. The laboratory compares it, a coordinator reviews every possible match, and only the responsible authority can confirm an identification. Nothing is decided by a computer alone.

A comparison never confirms identity on its own. A person reviews every lead, and an identification is only confirmed by the responsible authority with the laboratory report. Nepal Electricity Authority offers relief to families of flood-missing workers
